The Center’s mission is to serve as the primary liaison between USP and Chinese institutions, coordinating and facilitating academic activities and partnerships between the University and its counterparts in China. Our vision is to become the leading reference point in the Global South for fostering academic collaboration between Brazil and China.

Work fronts

Strategic coordination of research projects and partnerships

We host thematic working groups on priority topics such as Energy Transition, Digital Inclusion, Water and Food Security, Architecture and Smart Cities, and Chinese and Brazilian Culture. The activities promote partnerships with companies in key sectors and national and international funding agencies. The goal is to integrate USP and Chinese scholars, companies and government in projects with global impact.

Strengthening cultural and academic ties between Brazil and China

The Center serves as a primary liaison office between USP and Chinese institutions, coordinating and facilitating visits and partnerships. It also promotes cultural and educational activities, such as seminars, workshops, and exhibitions, contributing to cultural approximation and mutual understanding between Brazil and China.

 

Promotion of Academic Mobility and scientific cooperation

We promote agreements in research, education and innovation. It facilitates the mobility of students, faculty, and researchers through specific calls for proposals, dual-degree programs, and academic chairs (USP-China Chair).
